End of term arrangements – Friday 23rd December

Currently, we have some severe weather forecast at the end of the week (Friday 23rd December), coinciding with the end of the school day and Christmas travel.

The Highland Council have advised us that currently we should assess conditions Thursday night and Friday morning. We had hoped to assist children and families in planning travel with an early closure, especially in light of the travel disruptions and warnings, however  it is the responsibility of parents or carers to decide if a pupil should attempt to travel to school, by transport or on foot, in adverse weather conditions. The Council encourages full attendance at school but in severe weather conditions the safety of pupils is much more important.

Please can we ask all families to follow the adverse weather policy, however if you are travelling for Christmas, we understand you may travel earlier rather than later and therefore if your child is absent from school on Friday, please would you inform the school office.

We will assess conditions Friday and if we have to close, we will update the school phone line first.

First dial the Highland Council`s access number

0800  564  2272

and then enter the school`s pin number when asked –

04 1730

PLEASE KEEP THIS  IN A SAFE PLACE SO THAT YOU WILL HAVE THE INFORMATION TO HAND.

If we are able, we will then update facebook and the school blog.

UPDATE: 13:45 Wednesday 21st December:

We have had further advice that schools may make local decisions for early closure on Friday. Please keep a very close eye on facebook / the school blog and our telephone line on Friday morning.
