Parent Helpers – a request

parent-school-volunteer-clip-art-1775551As a parent  / carer, you can make an enormous difference to your child’s chances of success in school, at home and in their later life. Working in partnership with your child’s school can help everyone become ‘Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors’.

As a school we would like to ask if you have any spare time to help out on a regular basis during the day or after school.

Support from parent helpers may include helping with reading groups, playing maths games or supporting a creative lesson in class. You could even come in at lunchtime and organise some games outside or run a club inside with the children. Parents would support groups and would not be expected to work on their own with children. Parents would be working in class with the Class Teacher.

We would not encourage parents to spend time in a class if their own child(ren) are in this class and regular volunteers would go through the ‘Disclosure Scotland’ process. (The school will meet this cost).

If you are interested in helping, please contact Mrs Mackie either by phone, email, letter or just pop in.

I would be interested in helping. I am waiting for my PVG to come through with the Ferintosh Parish Church in Conon at the moment.
